Creating Matching Pieces - Artisan's Effect

Creating Matching Pieces

Posted on December 18, 2015 by Michelle Rynn

I enjoy purchasing matching pieces for decorating, but sometimes there aren't matching pieces available for a design I like.  That's what happened this year with a couple of decorative holiday pillows I purchased.  With Artisan's Effect markers I was able to coordinate with the designs I liked and create complimentary decorative pieces.

For the first piece, I purchased a beautiful piece of wood at the craft store.

Then, I painted the center of the wood with black chalk board paint.  I "feathered" the edges of the paint to give a softer look.

Lastly, I used Artisan's Effect Chalk Markers to draw the design on the dried chalkboard paint.

The other project was event simpler.  I purchased this wooden piece already painted with the chalkboard center.  I simply used a white Artisan's Effect Chalk Marker to write the words "Merry and Bright" in the center.

Make sure you have your own set of Artisan's Effect Markers ready for your next project.  Purchase at:
